  • Travala now accepts Daddy memecoin for hotel, flight and car bookings.
  • The deal comes after Andrew Tate’s recent release from house arrest in Romania.
  • The price of Daddy fell more than 8% after the news.

People can now use Andrew Tate’s meme coin, Daddy, to pay for hotel, flight and car bookings via the online travel agency, Travala, the social influencer said on Tuesday. The deal comes after Tate and his brother Tristan were recently allowed to travel across Europe by a Romanian Court.

Tate posted on X, that “to prepare for the $Daddy world tour you can now purchase car rentals, flights and hotels directly in $Daddy on Travala.” In a short video shared on social media a few days ago, Tate, 37, revealed plans to ‘tour the world’ following his release from house arrest.

Daddy token tanks nearly 10%

Travala is a booking service built on Binance’s BNB Smart Chain that allows users to connect directly and make commission-free transactions. According to Travala’s website, the agency offers booking services for over 2.2 million hotels worldwide using cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Tate’s Daddy token joins a long list of cryptocurrencies accepted for bookings on Travala. The agency teased its deal with Tate on X, saying “Something huge and exciting is on the horizon for $Daddy! Keep your eyes peeled and stay tuned.” Later, the controversial influencer confirmed the partnership.

The price of Daddy fell 8% to $0.1453 after the news, per CoinGecko data, with a trading volume of $14.6 million in 24 hours. The token, which went live on June 9, is down over 48% since its all-time high of $0.2849 on June 28. Daddy’s total market cap dropped likewise to $91.9 million.

Unlike in the past when public stars merely endorsed projects, Tate has actively issued and backed his Daddy token. It is a new trend of celebrity tokens in the meme coin sub-culture. In May, Nigerian musician Davido, U.S. media personality Caitlyn Jenner, rapper Izzy Azalea and several others all launched their own meme coins on Solana and promoted them on X.

Andrew Tate released from house arrest

Tate, a former professional kickboxer, and his brother were arrested in December 2022 in Bucharest on charges of human trafficking, rape and sexual exploitation. The duo, arrested together with two local women, were formally indicted in June 2023 and has denied the allegations.

Tate was later placed under house arrest and prevented from leaving Bucharest, the capital city of Romania. On July 5, a Tribunal ruled that the 37-year-old controversial figure was free to leave Romania but not the European Union, the Associated Press reported.

After the decision, Tate wrote on X using capital letters: “I am free. For the first time in 3 years, I can leave Romania. The sham case is falling apart.”
