  • Bitget marks its eighth anniversary under the theme “8uilt for Perfect Trades,” highlighting its shift into a Universal Exchange spanning crypto, traditional markets and institutional trading.
  • Non-crypto assets hit a peak of 40% of total trading volume, with rToken surpassing $100 million in AUM within five weeks and over 3 million cumulative transactions.
  • Institutional client net assets grew 45% since the end of 2025, and Proof of Reserves coverage will expand from four to 24 verifiable assets.

Bitget, the world’s largest Universal Exchange (UEX), is marking its eighth anniversary under the theme “8uilt for Perfect Trades,” celebrating eight years of trading innovation as the platform enters its next phase of growth across crypto, traditional markets and institutional trading.

This comes in a year in which Bitget accelerated its Universal Exchange strategy, bringing a wider range of global markets into one trading platform. At the peak, non-crypto assets accounted for 40% of total trading volume, while both TradFi perpetual contracts and CFDs have surpassed $10 billion in daily trading volume.

Bitget has grown across stocks, rTokens and AI trading

Over the past year, Bitget launched stock perpetual contracts, US stock options and Hong Kong stock Quanto contracts, while rToken surpassed $100 million in AUM within five weeks and has now recorded more than 3 million cumulative transactions.

One in four new Bitget users now begin their trading journey with rToken. Bitget has also expanded its AI trading capabilities with AI Playbook, its autonomous trading agent.

“Eight years in crypto feels a lot longer than eight years anywhere else. We’ve lived through multiple cycles, watched entire narratives come and go, and seen the market grow up very quickly,” said Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget. “The exciting part is that we’re still early in what trading can become. Crypto and traditional markets are converging, AI is changing the trading experience, and institutional participation is accelerating. UEX is our bet on where all of that is heading, and the next chapter for Bitget will be much bigger than crypto alone.”

Bitget is also expanding the infrastructure supporting that growth. For its eighth anniversary, Proof of Reserves coverage will increase from four to 24 verifiable assets, while its Protection Fund maintained an average valuation of approximately $382 million in August 2026.

The expansion comes alongside continued investment in security, market integrity and compliance as the range of assets available through Bitget grows.

Institutional trading takes center stage in year nine

Institutional trading will be a major priority as Bitget enters its ninth year. As of Q2 2026, institutional client net assets had grown 45% compared with the end of 2025, while core active market makers increased from 90 to 248 firms.

Bitget plans to further strengthen execution quality, API and quantitative trading infrastructure, institutional services and its cross-asset account capabilities.

The eighth anniversary will be celebrated across Bitget’s global community through KCGI 2026, featuring a 3 million USDT prize pool, alongside VIP programs, product-community activities and offline events across multiple regions.

As Bitget enters its ninth year, the focus remains on the idea that has shaped its development from the beginning: improving how people trade. UEX brings that ambition across a much larger universe of markets, with the next phase focused on making that experience deeper, more efficient and accessible at scale.
