Bitcoin treasury firms pile back in as BTC holds near $77,000
  • Corporate Bitcoin buying accelerated globally this week, with Japan’s Remixpoint liquidating its entire altcoin portfolio to hold only Bitcoin.
  • France’s Capital B secured a €7.6 million private placement entirely from Adam Back, aiming to add about 376 BTC.
  • The UK’s Smarter Web Company and Singapore’s Genius Group also expanded or restarted Bitcoin purchases, while Strive added 1,800 BTC.

Corporate Bitcoin buyers moved in unison this week, with firms across Japan, France, and the UK acquiring more Bitcoins. Some have restarted stalled programs, while others have gone as far as offloading other tokens in their treasury to concentrate on Bitcoin.

While all these are happening, Bitcoin currently sits at around $76,990.

Remixpoint, a diversified energy and technology company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, seems to be leading the charge in Japan, as it told regulators on Wednesday, September 2, that it had liquidated its entire altcoin book the day before and would hold nothing but Bitcoin going forward.

Remixpoint clears out everything but Bitcoin

Remixpoint said it sold 901.45 Ether (ETH), 13,920 Solana (SOL), 1.19 million XRP and 2.8 million Dogecoin (DOGE) on September 1. The combined haul came to about ¥878.8 million, which is roughly $5.5 million. Against a book value near ¥761 million, the sales booked a gain of about ¥117.8 million (around $737,000).

However, not every position paid off for the company, as it logged a ¥3.3 million loss on Dogecoin while turning a profit on the other three, its filing shows.

Remixpoint said it weighed market conditions, each asset’s risk profile, and its own financial strategy before deciding to narrow the portfolio.

What remains is approximately 1,506 BTC, worth about $115.3 million, per the company.

On BitcoinTreasuries.net, the company’s BTC holdings still read 1,501 BTC, as the last data on it dates August 19. Despite the small addition since then, it will still retain its position as the 38th-largest public corporate holder, following BitFuFu, which currently holds the 37th position.

Remixpoint has also been lending its Bitcoin, earning 14.92 BTC in fees between February 24 and August 31, a sum it valued at about ¥164.2 million ($1 million). Shares in Tokyo closed down 5% on the day.

Adam Back writes another check to Capital B

On September 2, Capital B, the French treasury company formerly known as The Blockchain Group, confirmed a €7.6 million private placement taken up entirely by Blockstream CEO Adam Back, one of Bitcoin’s earliest developers.

Back subscribed to 13.18 million shares at €0.58 each, a 15.4% premium to the prior close, with four warrants attached to every share. Capital B said the money would go mainly toward buying more Bitcoin and estimated the proceeds, plus ongoing operations, could fund about 376 additional coins.

This would lift its stack to 3,521 BTC from the 3,145 BTC it reported as of mid-August. Full exercise of the attached warrants could deliver a further €49.4 million down the line.

Also, Back’s ordinary stake climbs to 17.77% after the issuance and could reach 27.8% if every warrant converts, a concentration analysts watching treasury stocks may flag on governance grounds.

The UK and Singapore keep the streak going

In London, the Smarter Web Company added 35 BTC, pushing its treasury to 2,747 BTC and its rank to 29th among listed holders, per a corporate update. The Bristol-based web services firm has bought in small increments since 2020 rather than in single large blocks.

Singapore’s Genius Group is preparing a larger swing. On August 27, it unveiled a $1.2 billion, five-year capital plan that earmarks $827 million for Bitcoin, with purchases slated to restart in the fourth quarter of 2026.

That target is a restart, as the education company sold its remaining Bitcoin earlier this year to repay $8.5 million in debt, leaving zero on the balance sheet. An initial preferred-share raise of just $12.5 million shows how far the plan is from a completed buy.

The wave extends to the biggest names too. Strive, the Dallas asset manager, added roughly 1,800 BTC in its latest week to reach 23,156 BTC, overtaking Bullish for the fifth spot among public corporate holders even after a $257.6 million quarterly loss, Cryptopolitan reported.
