Mark Cuban’s owned basketball team, Dallas Mavericks, is currently doing a genuine Bitcoin giveaway for fans which would end on Saturday.
On Wednesday, the professional basketball team said that they would give away bitcoin to people who download the Voyager Digital app this week.
Fans can win the Bitcoin giveaway when they download the app, enter a promo code, deposits $100, and makes a trade will get $100 worth of bitcoin, Bobby Karla, the NBA team’s digital content manager, tweeted.
Voyager Digital on Wednesday announced a partnership with Dallas Maverick. The deal includes the right to name the Mavs Gaming Hub, the official gaming and event venue for the Mavs’ NBA 2K League team.
In a statement, Voyager CEO and cofounder Steve Ehrlich said the platform teamed up with the Mavs because of their leadership in the NBA and Cuban’s deep understanding of digital assets.
The partnership is possible because of a change in NBA rules that allowed teams to get international sponsors. Voyager Digital would be the first international partner of the Dallas Mavericks.
Mark Cuban, CEO of the Dallas Mavericks, said the partnership would help both franchises grow:
“The Mavs are proud to welcome Voyager to the Dallas Mavericks family. We believe our partnership with Voyager will allow Mavs and NBA fans to learn more about Voyager and how they can earn more from Voyagers’ platform than from traditional financial applications.”
Before Bitcoin giveaway, Cuban already a crypto fan
Mark Cuban has been a crypto fan for years, and recently he stood as a top believer in the prospect of meme coin, Dogecoin, asserting that it has sufficient merit to become a currency with global reach.
His basketball team also accepts Dogecoin as a means of payment for their tickets.
Cuban, a billionaire investor who also participates in the TV show Shark Tank, has invested in decentralized finance projects, assuring that this type of product could in the future compete with banks.
