Baldur’s Gate 3 has continued to draw attention after continuing its streak of averaging over 100,000 daily Steam players since it was released in 2023. The game has only dipped below the 100,000 daily-player mark a few times since its release. These daily numbers have placed the game ahead of other popular games.

The game’s peak average daily player count for each month also remained high, never going below 103,767 players per day. These figures place the game at the top of the list ahead of other popular titles such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Elden Ring.

Baldur’s Gate 3 continues its historic run

Baldur’s Gate 3 is an open-world fantasy RPG game developed by Larian Studios. The game was released on August 3rd, 2023. Baldur’s Gate 3 quickly became a fan-favorite, with reviewers giving it high scores. Baldur’s Gate 3 peaked at 875,343 daily players during its first month. The reviewers pointed out the game’s gameplay, narrative, and production quality as being exemplary. 

The game has also won the Game of the Year award at all five major video award ceremonies, reportedly the first to do so. Baldur’s Gate 3 secured awards at the D.I.C.E. Awards, the Game Developers Choice Awards, the Golden Joystick Awards, The Game Awards, and the British Academy Games Awards.

These role-player games all had bigger releases than Baldur’s Gate 3. However, despite the massive releases of these RPG games, they all struggled to sustain over 100,000 daily players on average, like Baldur’s Gate 3. The game also beat some of this year’s best-performing games, such as Helldivers 2, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, and Palworld.
