Emory Andrew Tate III has an obsession with high-end life, masculinity, branded watches, and sports cars. Now, add crypto to that mix. Tate has put his name behind a memecoin, one he prides legitimacy on, saying he will never pump and dump his coin.
His memecoin $DADDY has skyrocketed following the end of his human trafficking case. Daddy Tate is up over 18% with a $64 million market cap.
Daddy Tate is a meme coin on the Solana blockchain that launched in June 2024. It was created and promoted by social media celebrity and former kickboxer Andrew Tate. The coin promotes non-traditional methods of learning and wealth-building.
The coin’s controversial marketing strategy seeks to signify masculinity’s enduring power, setting it apart from the MOTHER token, another meme currency linked with Iggy Azalea, a well-known Australian rapper and model.
One of the bold and eccentric features of the DADDY website is the themes. You will find rebellious themes like “Surviving Jail,” “Escaping the Matrix,” and “Smacking the Police.
Andrew Tate’s crypto investments
Tate’s investment in crypto surpasses memecoins to embrace Bitcoin. Andrew Tate pledged to buy $1 million worth of Bitcoin every time MicroStrategy’s Michael Saylor made a purchase.
To that end, MicroStrategy Incorporated added 52,000 bitcoins to its portfolio worth $4.6 billion over the last week, marking the largest purchase in the company’s history. The latest purchase took place between November 11 and November 17, 2024, for 51,780 at a price of about $88,627 per Bitcoin. This has boosted its total holdings of the world’s biggest cryptocurrency to over 331,000 bitcoins.
With that purchase, Tate acknowledged his inability to match Saylor’s acquisitions but emphasized his commitment to supporting Bitcoin “for the culture.”
Andrew Tate wrote on X saying, “I promised that each time MicroStrategy buys BTC, I will buy 1 million USD of BTC. I am a brokey who can’t match his buys, and I already have 100’s of Ms in Bitcoin, which is far more than I’ll ever need. But for the culture. EVERY TIME he buys, I’ll buy 1M USD more BTC.”
His university, Hustler University, has recently begun teaching its students crypto investments. From the looks of things, Tate is in crypto trade and investment for the long haul.
The Tates case
According to recent reports, a Romanian court ruled on Tuesday for the removal of some evidence collected against the internet personality in a human trafficking case. The court has given prosecutors five days to decide if they will pursue the trial or withdraw the case.
Andrew Tate, his brother Tristan, and two Romanian female suspects were officially indicted in June 2023, and the Bucharest court directed that the trial could begin in April. The suspects deny wrongdoing.
In addition, the court states it found inconsistencies in the indictment file, such as inaccurate descriptions of the female suspects’ actions, missing details on asset seizure, and prosecutors’ failure to properly explain Tate’s charges to one of the alleged victims.
“The current ruling will be sent to DIICOT (the investigation office) to fix the irregularities in the indictment and to specify within five days if they maintain the intent to send the suspects to trial or whether they withdraw the case,” the ruling from the judge stated.
Andrew Tate’s lead attorney Eugen Vidineac says, “This is a monumental victory for our clients, who have maintained their innocence from the beginning […]The court’s decision to exclude key evidence and demand rectification of the indictment demonstrates the lack of substantiated claims against them.”
Prosecutors announced in August that they had launched a second criminal investigation against the Tates and four other individuals on charges of forming an organized criminal gang, human trafficking, trafficking of children, sexual intercourse with a minor, and money laundering.
The Tate brothers also have a British arrest warrant and will be extradited once the Romanian trial processes are completed.
