The American news website Yahoo Finance has decided to step foot into the cryptocurrency domain through its partnership with CoinMarketCap and bring the latest cryptocurrency news and prices to its three billion monthly users.
A partnership that is expected to promote awareness surrounding Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies significantly, Yahoo Finance has joined forces with the crypto industry’s sought-after data provider, CoinMarketCap, to provide latest updates on digital assets trading prices and other vital information like market capitalization, circulation supply, trading volume, etc.

Yahoo Finance to offer cryptocurrency news
Moreover, the data analysis website will also provide institutional grade educational material and cryptocurrency indices to Yahoo Finance. The index will feature live pricing updates from over two hundred cryptocurrency exchanges and more than one hundred and fifteen cryptocurrencies, including leading assets like Bitcoin, Ether, Tether, Bitcoin Cash, among others.
With an additional offering of metrics for assets having more than ninety percent (90%) of global market capitalization, Yahoo Finance expects to reach out to a broader spectrum of the cryptocurrency market. Some other crypto news providers can take up their similar roles.
While some crypto hobbyists may applaud the latest move from Yahoo Finance and welcome the media property into the crypto arena wholeheartedly, others could tout it to be only a newer version of CoinMarketCap as Yahoo’s news stream will also feature CoinMarketCap’s blog articles and newsletters.
Yahoo’s affiliation with CoinMarketCap is expected to boost the latter’s dominance over the market and increase its visibility by bringing cryptocurrency to a much larger group of audience. Although Yahoo does not hold as much monopoly as its rivals like Google, it is still one of the most visited websites in the world.
Yahoo Finance meets rising crypto demands
Joanna Lambert, General Manager of Finance and Tech and in charge of Verizon assets, including Yahoo Finance, commented on the partnership by highlighting the increasing popularity of digital currencies and commending Yahoo and CoinMarketCap for playing a crucial part in broadening their adoption rate.
At Yahoo Finance, she added, we experienced a higher demand for cryptocurrency-related news and updates. By integrating with CoinMarketCap, we will now be able to provide not only the latest but also the most reliable and accurate information to meet our audience’s needs.
