Resident Evil PS5 players get a surprise announcement from Capcom

Capcom is bringing physical Resident Evil editions for PS5 players. The physical editions will be for Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 7 respectively. The release of their physical copies is scheduled for this season.

Through 2022, the same titles became digitally available on PS5 adding much value to the gaming console. At that time, the players who got the games on former consoles, like PS4 or Xbox One, were allowed to update to the game’s newer version, which was free.

Previously, the same Resident Evil copies of physical versions were spotted on a Romanian website for a brief period. However, it had a misleading release date for July.

Now Capcom has officially announced the release in the coming months of three parts of Resident Evil.

Features in the PlayStation 5 versions

All the three games include 3D audio, ray tracing, fast loading times, and PS5 DualSense support. They also come with higher frame rates. Along with that, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard Gold Edition will come bundled with the Banned Footage DLC along with the End of Zoe epilogue.

With that, the remake of Resident Evil 2 is also among the most anticipated releases for the PS5. Players have dubbed it as the most popular horror game of this decade. While there has been no official announcements, fans have reasons to believe that RE 9 reveal will come soon.

Many players hope that the reveal will be at the 2024 Game Awards at the end of the year. That is because the last main title of the franchise came in 2021. Even if the next title is not coming soon, fans still have more Resident Evil content to look forward to. That is because a remake of Resident Evil: Code Veronica is currently in the works and we may get a release date soon.
