Oku launches on Etherlink, welcoming Uniswap v3 functionality to Tezos L2

In this post:

  • Oku launched on the Etherlink blockchain, bringing Uniswap v3 functionality to Tezos L2 users.
  • The DeFi aggregator offers 10 integrated trade routers and 11 bridges across 34+ blockchains with an integrated on/off-ramp for EU and U.S. banks.
  • David Relkin, head of DeFi at Nomadic Labs, said the deployment of Uniswap v3 smart contracts expanded trading capabilities and deepened liquidity options.

DeFi aggregator Oku launched on the Etherlink blockchain on June 16, bringing Uniswap v3 functionality to Tezos L2 users. It offers a wide selection of trade routers and bridges via a unified interface for novice and advanced users.

Oku’s deployment will serve as an access point to the deep liquidity of Uniswap v3, which consistently ranks high among exchanges for trading volumes and total value locked (TVL). Etherlink’s speed and low transaction costs place Oku in a position to attract top-tier DeFi protocols that enable users to swap, bridge, and manage liquidity as the integration of Uniswap V3 further cements Oku’s position as a growing DeFi hub.

Zajac says users will gain access to advanced but simplified DeFi

Dan Zajac, head of Business Development Lead at Oku, said integrating Oku on Etherlink enabled users to gain access to simplified DeFi, with advanced order routing for swaps & bridge transactions. Users can also manage their liquidity positions with a few clicks under one roof. According to Zajac, unifying the main pillars of DeFi was a crucial piece of the puzzle to addressing optimal user experience in crypto.

Oku will bring a suite of features to Etherlink users, including a trading interface with price charts and aggregated swap history, a position manager for optimal capital liquidity deployment, and an analytics dashboard providing insights into pools, tokens, and positions – all without additional fees.

“We’re excited to partner with Etherlink to make it easy for users who want to explore simplified DeFi. Gone are the days of needing to leave an app to perform separate actions.”

-Dan Zajac, Business Development Lead at Oku

Tezos’ users can use Oku’s interface and the EVM architecture of the Etherlink network to swap tokens and provide liquidity across a range of blockchains. For builders, the deployment demonstrated how Etherlink successfully bridged the EVM and Tezos environments, opening a pathway for other DeFi protocols to expand to Tezos in the future.

Relkin says Uniswap v3 smart contracts deepen liquidity options

David Relkin, head of DeFi at Nomadic Labs, said bringing Oku to Etherlink represented a notable advancement for decentralized trading on Tezos L2. He added that deploying Uniswap v3 smart contracts expanded trading capabilities and deepened liquidity options while leveraging the performance improvements delivered by the recent Etherlink upgrade.

The Etherlink team claimed that the launch came amidst massive growth for the ecosystem, which recently saw its TVL surge beyond $40M. The EVM-compatible Layer 2 blockchain, powered by Tezos Smart Rollups technology, will provide an optimal environment with up to 30x faster smart contract storage and network stability for trading applications like Oku. Users can begin exploring Oku on Etherlink immediately by connecting their wallets.

Oku–designed for novice and advanced DeFi users–will ensure users get the best quotes with fast execution and 0% frontend fees. It also aims to narrow the gap between centralized exchanges (CEXs) like Coinbase and Binance with a decentralized trading environment backed by deep Uniswap v3 liquidity. Etherlink will empower developers to deploy any EVM codebase and migrate users and assets from Ethereum and other interoperable chains, enabling interaction and asset transfers across different networks.
