Mawari partnered with Japan’s Brave Group and Virtual Avex to launch vTubeXR, the extended reality (XR) fan engagement platform enabling immersive 3D VTuber-fan interactions. Mawari plans to expand vTubeXR to a range of VTuber production companies and IP holders, supporting the evolution of user experience and business model.
Mawari claimed that vTubeXR will eliminate the need for specialized studio setups, enabling flexible global deployment beyond conventional local systems. vTubeXR represents a notable leap forward in virtual entertainment and will transform the digital meet-and-greet experience for Gen-Z and Gen Alpha. vTubeXR is also compatible with major XR devices like Meta Quest and AR glasses, as well as mobile apps, thus making the experience accessible to a larger audience.

Mawari disclosed that global visitors at the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, will experience immersive one-on-one and one-on-small-group interactions between VTubers (virtual YouTubers) and their fans. Thousands of VTubers regularly engage fans through live streams, music releases, and collaborations with anime, gaming, and other media. VTubers have become a popular phenomenon in Japan, with the domestic market estimated to be $1.5 billion in value by 2026.
A pre-launch user survey by Mawari revealed that 76% of the respondents strongly desired more immersive, personalized experiences. 86% of the participants also indicated they would be willing to pay for real-time, spatial interactions. The vTubeXR launch will boost Mawari’s network usage and revenue, especially after the company recently introduced the Decentralized Infrastructure Offering (DIO), which is aimed at expanding its distributed network globally.
“With vTubeXR, we’re creating a new era where fans can truly meet and connect with virtual creators in ways that were never before possible. It bridges the gap between virtual performance and real-world intimacy through real-time, interactive 3D technology.”
- Luis Solorzano, CEO of Mawari Corporation
Mawari claimed that vTubeXR would also introduce monetization features, including ticketed events, digital goods sales, VIP-level experiences, and super chat-style real-time payments. These functions will empower IP holders to fully leverage their 3D avatar assets and build sustainable and diversified monetization models.
Mawari announces early access at the Osaka Expo 2025
The invite-only Early Access Program will run from June 1 to August 31, 2025, and it will present an opportunity for VTubers to leverage the immersive XR technology and co-create the future of 3D fan engagement. Early Access partners will also get priority access to new features, dedicated onboarding support, and customizable monetization opportunities, including ticketing, digital goods, and VIP experiences to maximize their IP’s value.
Following this early access debut, Mawari, Brave Group, and Virtual Avex will continue exploring XR Entertainment’s global potential to deliver borderless fan experiences. Visitors can step into the XR world for virtual handshake events, memorable celebrations, or exclusive time-limited appearances that will replicate the intimacy of physical events.
Virtual Avex is scheduled to launch regular weekend events using vTubeXR starting June 2025 to allow fans to interact with their favorite VTubers repeatedly. Brave Group will also launch new initiatives like XR live performances and interactive storytelling within virtual spaces. Both events will support ongoing fan engagement through direct, interactive communication.
