NetEase Games will release a new playable hero every six weeks in Marvel Rivals. Also, a new season will be split into two parts every three months, with a new hero being released every half of a season.
In an interview with Metro, NetEase’s creative director, Guangyun Chen, shared that every season of Marvel Rivals will have fresh stories, maps, and heroes.
He said, “Three months is the length of each season, and each half-season, we introduce a new hero. We love wanting to keep enhancing the game and keeping our community excited.”
With every Marvel Rivals season will come the finishing question, “Who’s next?”
In Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, iconic heroes like Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman have already been introduced in the first half.
The rest of the second half will launch in just a few weeks, with the Thing and the Human Torch to join.
These are classic Marvel characters, and while they will have no problems generating the energy necessary to stay afloat season after season, it will be a challenge to maintain that kind of level.
On the other hand, a season 2 rumor is that Blade will appear. The rumor started when an X user, Miller Ross shared the Blade image from the in-game gallery of Marvel Rivals Season 1. The image also shows Ratatoskr, the massive squirrel beast from Asgard.

As per the lore, Dracula takes Blades and Ratatoskr, and in the game’s storyline, the Fantastic Four is going to come in and save them.
According to fans, at the end of season 1, the Fantastic Four will beat Dracula before saving Blade, possibly making him a playable character in season 2.
Marvel Rivals has been expanding the roster with tweaks to the gameplay
Marvel Rivals launched with a strong character roster, including Wolverine, Magneto, Spider-Man, Jeff the Landshark, and Storm. Although, there’s still room to grow.
Alongside its character rollouts, NetEase has been busy making gameplay improvements and balancing updates with more upcoming updates.
NetEase’s goals are ambitious, and Marvel Rivals has seen enough success so far that it seems that the studio is all in for the long haul. The future of Marvel Rivals is filled with new heroes and updates on the horizon.
