U.S. President Donald Trump has two “crypto dinner” events planned in the month of May. Apparently, not many people are happy with it, especially U.S. lawmakers.

The first crypto dinner, which happened on Monday, reportedly cost $1.5 million per person, which was referred to as “among the priciest political fundraisers in recent memory.”

The second Trump crypto dinner comes up on May 22, this time not for fiat-rich donors, but for holders of the $TRUMP meme coin.

The event will take place at Trump National, the president’s private club in the Washington, D.C. area. The contest to win a seat runs through May 12, and only the top 220 token holders will get a spot at the table.

U.S. lawmakers are apparently not in support of the “crypto dinner.”

In an open letter, Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Sen. Adam Schiff state that Trump is promising “exclusive access to the presidency in exchange for significant investment.”

Some also opined that Trump, through his crypto dinner, is selling the power of the U.S. president to the highest foreign bidder, considering that 76% of the top 220 TRUMP holders are likely foreigners.
