Paris, April 9 – Paris Blockchain Week, the leading international conference dedicated to blockchain and Web3, kicked off its second annual hackathon with three exciting challenges set by Solana and XRPL, with Casper and Sia as additional sponsors. The event took place over 48 hours from April 5 – April 7 and saw each winning team take home a €4,500 cash prize.
This year’s Hackathon saw more than 250 international tech specialists and developers come together to hack, build, and network at the ECE Eiffel Campus, a high-tech venue that was tailored for blockchain innovation. Bringing together numerous like-minded Web3 pioneers, each of the tracks provided a stage for the industry’s brightest talents to showcase their skills, network, and share and receive feedback and insights.
Solana set participants the following two challenges: Integrate custom Solana token to create a unique experience for users or business and Integrate defi/blockchain payments to create a unique experience for users or business.
In XRPL’s challenge, hackers were tasked to Build solutions to tokenize Real World Assets on the XRPL for institutions and individuals.
The event was a roaring success, with our standout teams pushing the very limits of what blockchain is capable of to discover new solutions and showcase their genius, aided by the presence of industry-leading mentors. It was an opportunity to dive into new use cases tailored to solving real-world challenges for businesses and consumers alike, and the teams didn’t disappoint.
In addition to the cash prizes, the lucky winners are granted an opportunity to showcase their work on the main stage of Paris Blockchain Week and given tickets to attend the full Paris Blockchain Week event.
The entrants were judged by representatives of this year’s hackathon sponsors, along with special guests and industry luminaries.

We had a lecture theatre to ourselves for the workshop, which facilitated the delivery of our content in a clear and focused way. This allowed us to effectively demonstrate the advantages of our platform, and allowed us to have energetic discussions to garner quick, unfiltered feedback from the people we are trying to reach, i.e. developers. Overall, it was a great start to the event and set the stage for a week of interesting exchanges and innovative ideas at PBW.”
