Luxembourg Blockchain Week 2024: A Global Hub for Blockchain Innovation

From December 9th to 13th, 2024, the 4th edition of the Luxembourg Blockchain  Week took place, establishing itself once again as the biggest blockchain conference  in Luxembourg. 

A Global Gathering at the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce 

From December 9th to 11th, the main conference welcomed over 350 international  participants from the UAE, the USA, and across Europe to the Luxembourg Chamber  of Commerce. Attendees had the opportunity to engage with 90 renowned speakers  from various fields, who shared innovative insights through keynotes, operational  blockchain use cases, panel discussions, and interactive workshops. 

Highlights from Distinguished Keynote Speakers 

Stéphanie Obertin, Minister for Digitalisation, Research, and Higher Education,  emphasized the importance of the event, calling the Luxembourg Blockchain Week, “a  central event that underscores Luxembourg’s role as a leader in innovation, technology,  and financial services.” She further highlighted that blockchain is “firmly becoming  the cornerstone of the fintech revolution, a domain in which Luxembourg has the  claim to become a global leader.” 

Laurent Mosar, Echevin of the City of Luxembourg and Deputy at the Chamber  of Deputies, provided invaluable insights on ensuring the country’s attractiveness  for DLT entrepreneurs during a panel discussion, addressing the challenges faced by  innovators in this transformative space. 

Gilles Roth, Minister of Finance, delivered closing remarks via video, stating, “This  event has highlighted the transformative power of blockchain and the possibilities of  Luxembourg’s leadership.” He praised participants’ “dedication and effort” in shaping  the future of finance and technology, underlining the potential of Luxembourg to  “make Europe more competitive.”

Ecosystem-Driven Innovation 

Throughout the week, 13 side events organized by the blockchain ecosystem unfolded  across Luxembourg, fostering dialogue and collaboration among institutions and  stakeholders. 

This community-driven event, supported solely by ecosystem partners and sponsors,  reflects Luxembourg’s commitment to developing its financial center and enhancing  its global competitiveness.
