Beatpulse, one of the largest providers of sourced music data for generative music models announced on Monday that it’s partnering with KOR Protocol to integrate over 1,000 music tracks and beats into KOR Protocol’s products like KORUS and more. The company says that it will enable them to offer a groundbreaking environment for music remixing and content creation, while ensuring artists retain full control over their rights and are rewarded fairly.
Co-founded by DJs and producers such as Deadmau5 and Richie Hawtin, KORUS is a music companion by KOR Protocol, a platform that allows users to easily create and remix music and videos using musical content from established artists and labels. The company’s overall business model works as an ecosystem for artists and builders, allowing secure IP management, automated licensing and royalties, as well as enabling an ecosystem of tools and applications to help grow artists’ intellectual property.
As part of the collaboration, Beatpulse aims to provide high-quality, multi-genre, ethically sourced stems, encompassing vocals, drums, guitars, and more, which will be integrated into KORUS.
“Working with Beatpulse allows us to expand the possibilities for creators to experiment, remix, and innovate, all while ensuring fair compensation for artists and musicians involved,” said Inder Phull, CEO and co-founder at KOR Protocol. “The integration with KORUS demonstrates our commitment to using technology to elevate artistic expression and enable new revenue streams in a fair, transparent ecosystem.“
This integration is part of KOR Protocol’s ongoing mission to offer artists new, decentralized ways of working, without replacing existing models of rights management, licensing, and monetization. The company claims that music stems and data from Beatpulse will be utilized in an on-chain environment, leveraging KOR Protocol’s IP Vault to transparently manage licenses and royalties, providing artists with verifiable ownership and compensation throughout the lifecycle of their works.
“We believe in empowering audio creators, artists and media companies to monetize their content by converting it into high-quality AI training datasets, all while prioritizing their rights and artistic intent,” said Jason Reiff, co-founder of Beatpulse. “This partnership with KOR Protocol allows us to showcase the value of stem-level, ethically sourced audio with rich metadata in the new era of Generative AI. We are excited about continuing to bridge the gap between traditional and new-age methods of music production methods.”[a]
“By incorporating Beatpulse’s ethically sourced datasets, KOR Protocol aims to expand creative opportunities and enhance flexibility for all participants in the music industry, be it in Web2 or Web3 environments,” explained Inder in a statement. [b]
The Animoca brands invested company has seen over 550,000 sign ups to its platforms including Pixelynx, KORUS and the Black Mirror experience, with partners such as SonyI, Netflix, Beatport and more. The web3 company sees artists such as deadmau5, Fisher, Timberland, David Bowe, Zayn Malik, Grimes and more onboarded on to its ecosystem, as it aims to expand its IP pipeline in the coming months.
KOR Protocol also counts Japanese telecommunications giant KDDI as an early supporter.
