Africa Digital Banking 2021 to discuss key factor contributing to the Digitization of the Banking Sector, Enroute to a Cashless Africa

The International Center for Strategic Alliances (ICSA), organizers of the Africa Digital Banking Summit – Innovation and Excellence Awards, are all set to go live with the 3rd Edition of the Summit, which is themed around Digitization of the Banking Sector, Enroute to a Cashless Africa.

The two day Global Summit, endorsed by the Bank of Ghana, will be inaugurated by Dr. Maxwell Opoku-Afari, First Deputy Governor, Bank of Ghana and will witness inputs by leaders and experts from the Banking and Financial Services space. The Summit goes live, virtually on the 10th and 11th of November 2021 with almost 700 delegates in attendance.

 “Africa is home to the second-largest banking market in the world in terms of growth and profitability Digital transformation of the BFSI sector is no longer an attractive option, it is imperative for banks to survive.” Said Mr. Mohammed Thoufiq, Director – Partnerships at ICSA

“Digital services are helping to fill the huge gaps in financial inclusion by providing access where it is most needed. Most banks will benefit from higher customer numbers in the longer term as they are actively investing in the architecture for the digital transformation now.” he added

This year’s Summit has been curated to inspire, educate and empower the banking and financial services industry to advance their pioneering strategies, to effectively cultivate their operations and to increase profitability in the post pandemic era. The  Summit is sponsored by Huawei, Microsoft, Profinch, Temenos, ABSA, FBNBank Ghana, KPMG, Seamfix, PrueSoftware, Arttha, and supported by the ISACA Accra Chapter and Databank.

Commenting on the Summit, Ronald Raffenspeger, CTO Digital Transformation, Financial Services Industry at Huawei said, “Financial services in Africa are advancing rapidly as a result of the adoption of mobile applications for all aspects of a user’s life.  In order to support this transformation, banks must digitalize and cloudify their IT and should adopt mobile application ecosystems as the way to meet customer’s needs.”
